"If you know someone who has lost a child or anybody who's important to them, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died, they didn't forget they died. You're not reminding them. What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that's a great, great gift" - Elizabeth Edwards

Walking on water in balls

The local rec center had this fun, free activity the other night that we just had to go too. The kids got to walk on water in plastic balls. Everyone got five minutes each inside the ball which made our kids have to wait for an hour before it was their turn. They were so patient though and they loved to watch everyone else in the balls too. I wish I could have tried too haha!

Haha it looks like Jordan is praying inside the ball or something.

Festival of lights…

We went to the Spanish Fork festival of lights the other day…It was awesome!

Tree of Life in Draper

After Temple Square we drove to Draper to go and look at the “Tree of Life” as they call it. By this time it was very late, even colder and the kids were tired and hyper and so we didn’t stay very long, but we got some pictures and the kids slid down the hill a few times. One the way back Nicci stepped in a small creek close to the tree and her snow boot got all wet and her foot was freezing. Good thing we were going home after that. Haha, craziness!

Lights at Temple Square

On Sunday night we went and saw the Christmas lights at Temple Square. It was soooo cold outside but so beautiful!! We had a little moment when we turned our backs and Savannah decided to run to one of the shepherd statues and tried to touch it, phew. I’m glad she stopped before it fell or something. We walked into the assembly hall and the tabernacle too and looked around. It was good because then we could warm ourselves a little. Even though it was freezing, I’m glad we went!

Christmas day!

We had a nice, relaxing Christmas day. I love to be able to just stay in my pj’s with Eric and the kids and just watch the kids play with their new toys. I love watching the kids open their presents and see their excitement. They were all so happy. In the afternoon my mother and father in law came over. They had just returned from a cruise to Mexico and gave us all T shirts from there. We sat and chatted about all sorts of things and watched one of the kids new movies. For dinner we had steak, potatoes, jello, rolls and veggies. Yum!

Nicci loves her new footed pj’s. The last month or so, every time we went to Target she would tell me she wanted them for Christmas. She was so happy she did!

All the kids except for Tyler got new robes, and I am so glad we got them these. They wear them every morning when they come downstairs and now I don’t have to have four different blankets on the floor or on the couch in the morning.

Christmas eve

We had a nice Christmas eve. In the morning we just relaxed, cleaned and played. The kids were so happy it was Christmas eve, especially Nicci who had been counting down the days for weeks.  Around 1.30 we arrived at my parent’s house. We had a really nice afternoon and evening together. I am so happy we live close to so many in my family now. I love to be able to celebrate the holidays with them. At first when we got there we watched some episodes of “Mysteriet på Greveholm.” Mysteriet på Greveholm was the 1996 Swedish SVT Christmas calendar production. You can read more about it here. I loved to watch it as a kid and it was fun to watch it again. Later in the afternoon we got to open our gifts. The kids were thrilled of course and spent the rest of the night playing with their new toys that mormor, morfar and everyone had given them. My mom had prepared a delicious traditional Swedish Christmas meal that we all enjoyed. We also stuffed ourselves full of different kinds of Christmas candy. What a nice night!

Mix

Grandma Tracey sent this felt Christmas tree for the kids to decorate. They love it!

Nicci is sooo sweet. She told me to go upstairs to her room and look out the window. Then she wrote a message to me in the snow.

Haha I love this pic. Jordan saw that I was taking a picture of Savannah hugging “Olaf,” so he said “What about meeee!.”

Nicci likes it when I lie down in her bed and just talk to her about all sorts of stuff. I had no idea she took this pic of me while I was resting a little.

Savannah wanted a doll house and so Nicci made her one. So sweet!

Elf on the shelf

I told myself I would never jump on the Elf on the shelf bandwagon……but…..sigh…..I did. Here are some of the shenanigans our elf Snowie has been up to this month. The kids can’t decide if its a he or a she haha. The kids have loved having the elf at our house. I have loved to see their excitement every morning when they got out of bed and ran around in the house to try to find the elf. They are sad now that Christmas is over and Snowie has gone back to the north pole. See you next year Snowie!
