"If you know someone who has lost a child or anybody who's important to them, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died, they didn't forget they died. You're not reminding them. What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that's a great, great gift" - Elizabeth Edwards

Savannah’s 3rd birthday!

Savannah was soooo excited for her birthday. We got her an Elsa dress, shoes and tiara. She loves the movie Frozen so much. She is our little Elsa, or “Sessa, or Selsa” that she calls herself. She is such a spunky and funny little girl. She is full of energy and is often up to mischief. I can’t count how many times she has played in the toilet or colored on the walls.  Savannah will tell everyone she talks to that she is a princess. “I a princess she says.” She loves to color, dress up and she will often start singing random songs. She loves everything about Barbies and Disney princesses. She can’t wait to start preschool this fall. I’m so excited for her. I’m also going to sign her up for swimming lessons and ballet lessons at the YMCA. I think she will love it. Savannah is a picky eater but she looooves to eat granola bars. We call her our little granola bar girl. On her birthday we had some neighbor kids over for ice cream sundaes and she got some fun gifts from them. She also loved the Elsa doll she got from mormor and morfar. We love our little Savannah Joy!

Nicci loves our hamster Luna so much! The other kids do too. The first 4 months or so of us having Luna she would never let us hold her. If we tried she would run and hide or try to bite us. Then all of a sudden one day she started to be nice and let us hold her. Now she never bites and she loves to be held. We got her a hamster ball that she runs around in a lot. She is cute!

Bubble run!

Melanie and I signed up for the bubble run like 6 months ago. Last Saturday it was finally time! The race started at 8 in the morning and we had to take a ferry and drive for a while to get there. Melanie picked me up at 4.40 in the morning. The previous night we had both gone to bed around 12 for different reasons, so we didn’t get a lot of sleep haha. We got there with plenty of time to go and get out packet with our t shirts, head bands and stuff. It was soooo fun!! I loved it! It was a 5K and that distance was nice because it was not too short and not too long that we felt completely exhausted when we were done. During the run they had different stations with bubbles in different colors that we ran through. We both said that we should bring the rest of our families if we do it again. The kids would have loved it! The atmosphere was awesome, they were playing music and everyone looked happy. I think they said they had 18 000 people that came and ran. After we were done we got some snacks and drinks and got into the car and chatted while we drove home. It was such a fun morning. I’m so going to do this again!

Outdoor movie

My mother in law invited us to go to an outdoor movie last week. Well, when the day came it was pouring down rain and it was cancelled. We tried again this Friday and the sun was shining so off we went! The movie that was playing was “Monster university.” The kids got to make their own little cars out of cardboard boxes before the movie started. They had so much fun! We also celebrated Savannah’s 3rd birthday a few days early since a lot of the family was there. She loved her cake and looked soooo happy! My mother in law had brought lots of popcorn and the kids sat in their little cars during the entire movie. Well, everyone except for Tyler. He got a little cranky at the end of the movie because it was so dark outside and he was tired, but I was able to keep him awake so that he could sleep on the way home in the car. We didn’t get the kids in bed until 11.30 and Eric and I didn’t get to bed until 12 am. I’m so glad we went though!

We went to the zoo on Friday. It had been a long time since last time we went there. We used to have zoo memberships when the kids were younger and used to go more often because of that, but because of the kind of long drive there and other reasons we never renewed our memberships. We had a nice day. It was a little chilly when we first got there but after lunch the sun came out.  The kids love to play at the playground at the zoo. The only thing they got a little frustrated by were the large groups of summer camps that were there and took  up a lot of space at the playground. But we just waited until they left and then the kids had more space. Their favorite animals they saw were the elephants and tigers. They had so many tigers! I also let them go on the merry go round before we went home. We had a few tantrums here and there but overall it was a good and fun visit.

(Late) Tyler 8 months

Soooo…Tyler will be 9 months on Friday and I’m just now posting about his 8 month. Oppsie. Tyler turned 8 months on July 21st.  A lot happened during this month. Tyler got his two top teeth and learned how to crawl, pull himself to standing and cruising around holding onto things. He loves to play with toys and is getting better and better and eating solids. His favorite is oatmeal with blended fruit. He is such a happy guy. During this month he started to have lots of stranger anxiety and will start crying like crazy if other people try to hold him. I hope this will get better soon. He has started to put EVERYTHING he can into his mouth so we have to remind the kids over and over again to not leave things on the ground. We love you Tyler!

Nicci at horse camp

For Nicci’s birthday this year we decided to give her the gift of going to a week long horse camp. I remember going to horse camps as a kid and I LOVED it. The nice thing about this place was how close it was to home. Just like 3 min away. She was there from 9-3 for 5 days. The horse she had during the camp was named “Bunny.” She had such a great time. She cried when it was over and said she is going to miss Bunny sooooo much.  I’m one proud mom because I love horses too and I’m so glad we share this interest! She made a lot of new friends and her teacher was so sweet. What a great week!

The Lea’s invited us to to their annual Talent show. We had a great time as usual. We did “5 little monkey’s jumping on the bed.” The kids jumped up and down on a “bed” and then one after one they “fell off” the bed.  The kids loved it!

Nicci’s baptism

On Saturday August 8th Nicci was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I was so happy that so much family and friends were able to come and be there with us. I was especially happy that my mom was able to come from Utah. We had such a nice and fun weekend with her. It went by way to fast. Nicci is such a special little girl. She is really growing up fast. I love to spend time with her and sit and talk with her. She loves horses, arts, crafts, play with Barbies, Little Petshop, play with friends, and play Minecraft. She is such a great sister to all her younger siblings. Nicci you are soooo loved!!
