"If you know someone who has lost a child or anybody who's important to them, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died, they didn't forget they died. You're not reminding them. What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that's a great, great gift" - Elizabeth Edwards

"The deep hurt is the mirror image of the deep joy that still awaits you." - Bruce C. Hafen

Mother/daughter camp out

We had a wonderful time at the mother/daughter camp out last Friday and Saturday. Nicci had been looking forward to this for soooo long! The days before the camp out we got tons of rain so we were very lucky that it didn’t really rain while we were there. Zions camp is a wonderful place to go camping. It’s not very far away and they have this beautiful lake close by and a playground where the kids had a blast!  We didn’t go to the lake this time though.  I was very tired when we came home. My ribs had been hurting a lot during the night and a little girl in the tent next to us cried until like 2 am. But even though I came home super tired, I was so glad we went! It was nice to just have that time with Nicci and I look forward to bringing Savannah next year. It was fun to spend time with friends and their kids too!

Savannah in bunk bed

Earlier this week we decided to move Savannah out of the crib and into the bottom bunk bed. I was a little nervous how she was going to do but she has done great! I worried she was going to keep getting out of bed like 50 times but she stays and has been fine during naps too. Savannah loves the movie Frozen so we decided to get her a Frozen bedding set. She was so thrilled when we made the bed for the first time. My little cutie!

Dustyn and Derek’s birthday party

Last weekend we went to my in laws house and had a fun time. In the afternoon we celebrated the kids’ cousins Dustyn and Derek’s birthdays at the community park. We had a really nice time chatting and playing and had some yummy cake and enjoyed the sunshine. Here are some pictures from both me and my mother in law.

Fun at the fire station

The nearby fire station had an open house one afternoon so we decided to go. The kids were given some snack, got some stickers and got to look at fire trucks and and other emergency vehicles. The fire fighters were all so nice and answered lots of questions. The took time and talked to the kids and showed them different things around the fire station. I’m glad we went!

A trip to the temple

On Saturday morning Eric and I went to the Seattle temple. We had a nice time.  Since the trip there and back takes a while it was nice to have so much time to just sit and chat about everything and just enjoy each other’s company without getting interrupted by our very energetic children 😉

Washington State Fair

The kids had been looking forward to going to this fair for a long time. They saved up some of their allowance to help pay for their wrist bands for rides. I was so happy that the weather was nice when we went, not to cold or hot. I was a little worried that Lionel might not be be able to go on a lot of rides because of his cast but he was able to go on every ride they wanted to go on. We also walked around and enjoyed some yummy fair food. We walked around and looked at different booths with products and enjoyed some yummy chocolate milk. We bought some spice packs that we can make five different kinds of dips with. A lady tried to sell me a nice hair straightener but it was way expensive, so no thanks. I loved to see the joy on the kids faces when they went on all the rides. Such happiness!

Fun at the splash park

We went to a fun splash park in Tacoma last week. I wish we had gone here more this past summer. The kids had a blast! They were running around everywhere and went back and forth from the splash pad to the playground. I wish we had a splash park like this closer to home. Poor Lionel can’t get his cast wet, but he still had fun putting his feet in the water.

Visiting our Oliver

I love to read this quote every time we go to the cemetery. It’s on a decorative rock by another baby’s grave marker.

“Gone, yet not forgotten, although we are apart, your spirit lives within me, forever in my heart.”

Update on pregnancy

I wanted to update a little bit about my pregnancy. The last month or so, I started to feel sooo tired.  I found out a few weeks ago that I’m anemic so I have started to take iron pills and I hope that will give me some more energy. I passed my glucose screening and baby seems to be growing and be healthy. Baby is moving lots and I’m starting to have more aches and pains now. I feel so clumsy now days. I almost fell down the stairs earlier this week because I tripped when I was helping to take Savannah’s little play stroller downstairs. I got a carpet burn on my leg and my other leg hurt for a while. I also got a small electrical shock last night when I unplugged the computer plug because I did it in a weird angle. Craziness. I had an ultrasound to check baby’s growth last Tuesday and everything looks good. My belly measures really small as usual but my doctor knows from my history that it doesn’t mean I will have a small baby since I have measured small with all my babies, yet they are very big. I have started to have more and more heart burn and tums are my friends. I love to feel Tyler move every day. I have had a lot of fear and anxiety with this pregnancy and these last 10 weeks will for sure be a little scary. Pregnancy will sadly never be without fear and worry for me after what we went through with Oliver. But I try to stay positive. I just hope and pray I will get to bring this precious little one home with us.  We love him!

Tyler’s cute little face.
