"If you know someone who has lost a child or anybody who's important to them, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died, they didn't forget they died. You're not reminding them. What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that's a great, great gift" - Elizabeth Edwards

"The deep hurt is the mirror image of the deep joy that still awaits you." - Bruce C. Hafen

Born in Silence

Seattle Children’s Hospital made this video about families going through the tragedy of stillbirth. So many things these parents share in this video I have felt too. When I watch this I think of all my friends who have lost babies and I also think of my Oliver.

What’s Mine, Is Yours

A friend sent me this song yesterday and I love it.

What’s mine is yours
It’s always been
What slips through my hands has your fingerprints on it
I’m letting go
Though Heaven’s doors feel shut they’re wide open
What’s mine is yours

Spa Night

We had a really fun girls night on Friday night. We watched “The princess bride,” applied face masks,  painted our nails, ate lots of treats and talked! I love spending time with my friends. I feel so blessed to have all of them in my life.

So tired of raccoons

I am SO tired of all the raccoons we have around here. The last three weeks they have made our garbage can fall over, destroyed the garbage bags and spread garbage all over our driveway. We finally decided to tie down the lid with a bungy cord so that they can’t get in anymore.

Some friends from the baby loss group I attend, celebrated their baby Lucy’s birthday earlier this week. They released some balloons for her, and one balloon for all the babies in our group. It warms my heart when people remember my Oliver.

Going Skating

We had a lot of fun with some wonderful friends at skate land last night!

I went to a friend’s baby shower to celebrate baby Roxanne’s impending arrival. Yay for babies!

Nicolina went to a birthday party at Skateland. She had a lot of fun. We are going back some other time to go rollerskating as a family.

Children’s museum in Olympia

We went to a children’s museum in Olympia today. It just barely opened in November last year. We loved it! Everything was so nice! All the paintings on the walls and the decorations were awesome. They had so many fun things for the kids to do. Lots of different rooms with hands on activities. The kids also got to do some crafts. We went there with my sister and her family and it was so fun to see them again and spend some time together. We stayed at the museum for over 5 hours and we were all pretty tired when it was time to leave. I’m so glad we went!

That’s What Faith Can Do

By Kutless

Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes
And make a new beginning

Anyone can feel the ache
You think it’s more than you can take
But you’re stronger
Stronger than you know

Don’t you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

It doesn’t matter what you’ve heard
Impossible is not a word
It’s just a reason
For someone not to try

Everybody’s scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It’ll be alright

Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing
