"If you know someone who has lost a child or anybody who's important to them, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died, they didn't forget they died. You're not reminding them. What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that's a great, great gift" - Elizabeth Edwards

"The deep hurt is the mirror image of the deep joy that still awaits you." - Bruce C. Hafen

5 Beautiful Kids

Kitsap Fair

We were at the Kitsap fair just hours before I went into labor with Savannah.

Some pics from her first day at home.

Savannah is here!

Our beautiful daughter Savannah Joy was born on August 25th, 2012 at 2.15 am. She was 8 lbs 7 oz and 21 inches long.

On Friday, August 24th I went to the Kitsap fair with Carrissa and Kariann. The kids got to look at some animals, eat cotton candy and go on the merry go round. When I got home I was feeling very tired and achy. I also felt like I was leaking something. Contractions started to come after we had dinner and I decided to go to the hospital to be checked.

They did a test to see if my water had broken and it was positive. She also checked me and I was 80% effaced and dilated 3 cm. They decided to admit me. I walked around the hospital for a while to get my contractions to get stronger. It worked. I was so excited that I was going to meet my sweet baby!  My labor with Savannah progressed a lot faster than with my other kids. When I finally got some relief from my epidural I was already dilated to a 9. I only had to push three times and she was out. She is so precious and we love her so much! The kids loved seeing her today and wanted to hold her over and over again. Savannah is such a blessing! We are going home tomorrow.

38 Weeks…

…one more week to go. I had my 38 week check up yesterday. Everything is well with the baby. My doctor has scheduled me to come in at midnight on Tuesday next week to be induced….I can’t wait…I am feeling so anxious to meet my little Savannah. I feel like I have been holding my breath for 9 months now. These last few weeks have been very hard. I have been worrying constantly about my baby, that something will go wrong or that I will lose her too.  I can’t wait for the moment when she will come out; when I will get to hold her, hug her, hear her cry and know that she is healthy and well. I want my baby girl so bad.

I love you sweet baby. I can’t wait to meet you.
