"If you know someone who has lost a child or anybody who's important to them, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died, they didn't forget they died. You're not reminding them. What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that's a great, great gift" - Elizabeth Edwards

"The deep hurt is the mirror image of the deep joy that still awaits you." - Bruce C. Hafen

A Trip to the Urgent Care

Eric had just gotten home from work today when it happened. We were in the living room and we had no idea that Jordan was up in the bunk bed. We always tell him not to be up there. Nicci told us that Lionel was climbing up the ladder to be with her and Jordan when Jordan pushed him down. When he fell he hit the side of their little table and got a gash on the back of his head. The bleeding stopped pretty fast. So we went to the urgent care and Li0nel did so good. He was so brave. He got to sit in my lap and they cleaned his head and one nurse held his head while the doctor put 6 staples in. Lionel only cried a little bit. He got lots of stickers and we went to McDonald’s after because he did so good. Poor little guy. Now, don’t look at these pics if you don’t like blood.

Before staples

We will go back in a week to get them removed.

New Beds

Since Jordan learned to climb out of his crib we got two twin beds for the boys that later can be turned into a bunk bed. Nicci sleeps on top of a bunk bed now and she loves it.

Love this…

I love and miss my baby.

Playing with Cousins

We went to my in laws house yesterday and the kids had fun with their cousins!

What is inner strength?

After Oliver died I received a card that had a nice poem on it. It’s called What is inner strength by Emily Matthews.

“We may not know we have it

till we’re well into the race,

Or feel we’re nearly overwhelmed

by the challenges we face-

But then we look much deeper

for the power to succeed,

And find we have an inner strength

that meets our greatest need. “

Marine Science Center

We met up with a friend there today and the kids had fun!

I am so excited that some of our spring flower bulbs have started to come up! We have decided to build some garden boxes and try some square foot gardening this year. I am excited to plant some vegetables and herbs. I really want to try to make our garden look nicer this year.

Jordan’s Toe

Poor little Jordan’s toe nail fell off last week after Nicci pushed a door on his toe. The new one has already started to grow. Nicci is so careful now every time she opens the door to go swimming. She worries all the time that she will push it on someone’s foot again. Sweet girl.

Funny pics of Lionel and Nicci

Lionel playing with my phone. I love how many funny pics I find on my phones several times a week. Even Jordan knows how to take pictures when he plays with my phone.

Yep, that’s right. čÖé We found out on Dec 26th. I am 11 weeks and due on September 5th. I have kind of had a rocky start. I have had awful and terrible cramping that has scared the wits out of me. At one of the ultrasounds they saw that I have a small sub chorionic hemorrhage just like I did with Oliver, and that might explain the cramping. I am trying to take it as easy as I can right now. I am super tired and feel very┬ánauseous all the time. I hope everything will go well. I am feeling very nervous and scared. We are hoping and praying this baby will be healthy and that we will get to bring him/her home with us. I am taking it one day at a time. We feel very blessed.

Baby at 9 weeks.
