"If you know someone who has lost a child or anybody who's important to them, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died, they didn't forget they died. You're not reminding them. What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that's a great, great gift" - Elizabeth Edwards

A Beautiful Day in Sequim!

Today we decided to go to Sequim and the Olympic Game Farm. It’s about an hour car ride there. On our way we saw a farmer’s market that we stopped by. We tried some really yummy salsa and looked at lots of cute things. After that we went to the Olympic Game Farm. At this place you drive around in your cars while animals are walking around. They sometimes walk up to your car. The kids sat in our laps and they just loved it! They had a lot of different animals. Some animals were a little freaky and got a little too close and we just laughed. It was so funny. They asked us if we wanted to buy some bread so that we could feed the animals and we did. Here are some pictures.

They also had a petting zoo that we went to.

When we were done at the Olympic game farm we went to the Dungeness  Wildlife and State park. It was beautiful there! They had a camping ground there and we decided that we are definitely going to go camping there later this summer.

Beautiful view

One minute before we reached the car, Eric saw this big puddle and told Nicci not to walk in it. Well, she did anyways and slipped and fell. Poor girl. Luckily we always have a change of clothes for the kids in the car. It was a very fun day!

Birthday Party

Nicci was invited to her friends’ Kadie and Ella’s birthday party. She was so excited. She even slept with the invitation for two nights. It was so cute. When it was time to go to the party she was so ready!

She was so happy when she came home and had a great time. Such a cutie.

Birthday, Dentist and OB appointment

Yesterday it was my birthday! It was a pretty normal day until Eric got home from work and let me relax all night! So nice! A few days before my birthday we went out to Olive Garden with Carrissa, Eric, Mindy and Garet. We had a great time and the food was delicious! The kids had fun at home with the babysitter.

Today Nicci went to the dentist for the first time. Some friends told me about this great dentistry place for kids in Bremerton. We had a really good experience there. They were all so nice and there were lots of toys everywhere for the kids to play with. In the ceilings they had TV monitors so that the kids can watch shows while the dentist look at their teeth. Nicci also got to wear some cool sunglasses. Nicci was a little hesitant at first of course since it was her first time, but she let them do everything they asked to do which was nice. All her teeth look great! Next week it’s Lionel’s turn….I hope he will open his mouth.

Yesterday I had an OB appointment. The baby’s heartbeat was great and the baby was moving a lot. It was a pretty emotional appointment because we started to talk about the delivery and all the things surrounding the birth of our baby. My doctor is so sweet and is really going to try to make this experience as easy and comfortable as possible. I am so lucky to have her as my OB.

Viking Fest

This weekend we have a Viking Fest here in Poulsbo. We went last night and looked at the different food and craft booths and listened to some music. We also went and let the kids go on some rides. Nicci was in heaven, she had so much fun! Lionel did too, though he was a little more hesitant. He was too scared to go on the ferris wheel so he just sat in the stroller and watched Nicci and Eric. The weather was nice and the kids also got some inflatable toys to bring home. It was a great night!

We tried to get them to push the button to get the plane to go higher but it was a little hard for them.

Yay for Lionel!

Lionel is officially potty trained! We are so proud of our little boy.  It was a lot of work but now its done and it’s so, so nice!! It’s great to only have one kid in diapers now. Yay for Lionel!

Here are some pictures from the other night when the kids were playing with Eric.

Kids at the Beach

Last week I was sick with a cold almost all week. We were all coughing a lot too…not very fun. At the end of the week I had more energy so I took the kids down to the playground at the beach where we live. They had fun but were also a little crazy trying to run away from me and splash in the water. They all got wet, but hey, they had fun. I took some pictures while we were there. It was such a nice day.

Baby Update

I had another ultrasound last week. Everything still looks the same. The baby is right on track for growth. I’m so proud of my baby continuing to fight in there. The technician tried really hard to see if it’s a boy or a girl. She said she is 70-75% sure it’s a boy. She didn’t seem too sure though so we are probably going to prepare for both just in case. I remember lying there during the ultrasound feeling my sweet baby move and just silently crying over this whole situation…How I wish things could be different. Last time we had an ultrasound the baby was head down and now the baby is breech. I hope the baby will turn head down again, but with so little fluid in there, it’s not very likely says my doctor. We will see what happens. I love my little baby so much.

Sweden Here We Come!!

I am so, so excited! We just bought tickets for me and the kids to go to Sweden at the end of August! We are going there on August 29th and will come home on September 27th. It’s been 3 1/2 years since last time I was in Sweden. I have been wanting to go home and visit for so long. Last time we went Nicci was 4 months! We are going to miss Eric tons but we will talk with him on Skype every day. I have to admit I am a little nervous about travelling alone with 3 little kids but we will survive. 🙂 It’s nice to have something to look forward to this summer. 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day!

I have had a great day today! I got to sleep in this morning and Eric has been helping out with everything. We just had some delicious dinner, steak, potato salad, corn on the cob, salad and cheesy biscuits. We also made a blackberry pie that we will eat later. I am so happy that I am a mom. I love my family. I am so grateful for my mom, and mother in laws. They are wonderful examples to me. Happy Mother’s Day!

Last Few Days

On Monday night some friends and their kids showed up and planted a Magnolia tree in the backyard for us. It is a tree for the baby. It will get beautiful white flowers when it starts to bloom. The kids got to dig holes and plant some flowers too. When the tree was planted everyone gathered around and sang “Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree,” and “I am a Child of God.” It really touched our hearts and made us feel so loved. People are so nice and we feel so blessed.
