"If you know someone who has lost a child or anybody who's important to them, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died, they didn't forget they died. You're not reminding them. What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that's a great, great gift" - Elizabeth Edwards

Fun in the Pool!

It was really nice and warm outside today so we decided to fill up Nicci’s pool. We had some friends over and they had a lot of fun. I thought it was cute that Nicci and her friend wore the same bathing suit. Lionel was just watching wearing his new hat. Poor little Lionel is teething and has been pretty miserable lately. I can see some white spots on his gum but can’t feel them yet. We are just waiting for his first two teeth to pop through. Nicci is in a cheese phase. If we allowed her, she would choose to eat cheese for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She asks for it all the time. One night Eric told me that the last thing Nicci told him before he closed her door was, “cheese.” Tonight right before her bedtime we were sitting on the couch. I could hear that Nicci was doing something in the kitchen. She had opened the fridge and taken some cheese out that she wanted us to give her. Silly girl. Now Lionel loves to play with toys and wants to touch everything. Nicci has become really possessive of her toys. It doesn’t matter what toy Lionel is holding, she always wants it. I’m still surprised how easy the whole “take away the pacifier” experience was. Nicci is such a good girl. We are pretty busy right now with everything. We are going to buy a house this year. It’s really exciting!

Memorial Weekend

We had a good weekend. On Saturday it was my birthday! Eric was so nice to me and took care of the kids, the dishes and everything the whole day!! In the morning we went to the park and let the kids play. I love the waterfront park…it’s so nice there. When the kids took their naps I went to the mall to do some birthday shopping. Thanks babe! We went to Los Cabos for dinner and it was so good. After dinner we went home and had some cheese cake with some friends. ! It was such a nice day.

This morning our ward had a pancake and waffle breakfast. It was really yummy. In the afternoon we took a trip to Scenic beach. Nicci had fun splashing in the water and collecting rocks and sea shells. She also liked the playground they had there. The weather has been in the 70s all weekend. We have loved every second of it.

Bye Bye Pacifiers!

I’m so proud of Nicci. She loved her pacifiers so much…and now she is done with them! Well, she needed a little help. We started cutting off small pieces of the rubber until there was nothing left. She was so sad….She kept bringing the pacifier over to us saying, “help.” She wanted  us to fix it. Last night was her first time to go to sleep without the pacifier. (For a few days she slept with the pacifier even if it was broken) She did cry for over half an hour but then we didn’t hear a sound from her all night long. She woke up happy and also went down for her nap without asking for her pacci. Yay for Nicci!

The Kids at the Playground!

“Ousiide, ouside!…..sliiide, sliiiide”
-Yep, Nicci we are going outside!

Lionel is 6 Months!

My sweet little boy is 6 months! I took him to his 6 month check up on Tuesday and he weighed 17 lbs 14 oz and measured 26, 3/4 inches. As you can tell I don’t update my blog as often as I used too. The kids keep me plenty busy. They are such a joy.
I took them to a Children’s museum yesterday and Nicci loved it. We also went to the zoo on Monday and Nicci loved to see all the animals. Lionel can sit up by himself now. He loves to eat baby oatmeal. He likes to play with his toys. Nicci learned to say the word “slide.” She asks if we can go to the slide every day now. I try to take her there every day because she loves it so much. Last night when we were driving home in the car, I told her we would go to the slide when we came home. In my mind we were going to eat dinner first and then go to the playground. I didn’t think she was going to remember and be so specific. Well, she got so upset when we came home and I took her shoes off. She started crying and said, sliiide, sliiiide and tried to open the door. I told her over and over again that we would go to the slide after dinner but she was so mad. Eventually she stopped crying, ate dinner and then Eric took her to the slide. I stayed home because Lionel had fallen asleep. Cute little girl. I love my kids!

Busy Nicci!

*A couple of days ago Nicci learned to open all the doors in our apartment.
*Yesterday she learned to open our fridge.
*Today she peed in her potty!

Nicci is a busy, busy girl!

Lionel and his Friend!

Lionel has a friend named Kaylee. Both kids always come when we have a Primary meeting. Last week we had a meeting and both kids were up. All of a sudden Lionel reached over and grabbed Kaylee’s hand. He held it for a long time. It was sooo cute! They were both giggling and cooing.

Last Friday we had a barbecue and Kaylee came with her parents. Of course Lionel and Kaylee had to play again. Cute babies!
