"If you know someone who has lost a child or anybody who's important to them, and you're afraid to mention them because you think you might make them sad by reminding them that they died, they didn't forget they died. You're not reminding them. What you're reminding them of is that you remembered that they lived, and that's a great, great gift" - Elizabeth Edwards

"The deep hurt is the mirror image of the deep joy that still awaits you." - Bruce C. Hafen

Eric surprised me and gave me some tulips today when he came home from work. He is so sweet!

Here are some pictures from the weekend. Poor little Nicci tripped outside and fell and got a fat lip. She was bleeding and crying and it was SO sad. She scraped up her chin too. Her upper lip tripled in size and it hurt for her every time she tried to eat. Her lip looks a lot better now. This was just a couple of hours after it happened.

Lionel “the Lion”

As you can see, Nicci’s lip looks a lot better today!

Girl Time!

While Lionel was taking his morning nap I decided to paint my nails. Of course Nicci wanted me to paint hers too. She kept pointing to her nails and then to the nail polish. She is so cute!

Math Quiz

So for those of you wondering what the math quiz is all about, it’s just a very simple form of spam protection.  Works much the same as the image numbers that you see all over.  My captcha just stopped working so I’ve put this in for a while.

Sick Kids!

I haven’t been blogging for a few days because not much has been going on besides the kids being sick. The kids got sick on Saturday and are still recovering. They have both been miserable with bad coughs and runny noses. The runny noses are getting better but they still cough a lot. Nicci has been using everything she can get a hold of to wipe her nose. Right now we have snot on the couches, the floor, our clothes, on the toys and everywhere else you can think of. Some days I have been covered with snot. They have both been craving attention.  Some days I have just sat with both of them on my lap. When one of them starts crying the other one starts. They feed off each other. I think we all have cabin fever right now. Nicci keeps banging on the windows because she wants to go outside and I’m getting tired of being inside all day long. Eric has been nice and has let me get out of the house a couple of times when he gets home from work and that has helped. Since we have been inside so much, Eric and I have started to watch the show “Lost.” So far we have only watched like 5 episodes, but I like it. Oh and Lionel started laughing the other day. Of course it was Eric that made him laugh ..he also got Nicci to laugh the first time too. He is a lot more funny than me I guess. 🙂  Anyways, I have no new pics.  However, these ones were taken a couple of months ago. Eric has a button on his laptop and if you push it, it takes a picture of you with a webcam. Nicci knows where that button is and if we forget the laptop where she can reach it, she always takes pictures of herself without us knowing. We have had a lot of laughs when we have seen many pictures of her on the screen when we came back.

P.S The comments work again, so if you feel like it, please leave a comment! It makes me really happy when you do!

Happy Valentines Day!

Last night we went to a Valentines dance. We left Nicci with a babysitter at Eric and Carrissa’s house.  Lionel however came with us to the dance.  He had a great time dancing.  He definitely has his father’s talent for dance. Ha-ha. Here are some pictures.

My Happy Guy!

Lionel is so cute when he smiles! It melts my heart! I love it how excited he gets everytime he sees me.

Stimulus or No Stimulus?

Let me think about this…Hmmm…how about nostimulus!

We had a good weekend. On Saturday we went to a little birthday celebration for Eric’s cousin Carrissa. It was fun! Yesterday was Nicci’s first time in nursery. She just walked right in and had a great time. The teachers said she did so well. It was really nice too because Lionel slept for two hours so Eric and I could just relax and enjoy church. I have been called to be the Primary secretary in our ward and I already love to work with the kids.

Oh an Nicci had her 18-month check up on Friday.
Weight: 29 lbs 5 oz 13.4 kg (97%)
Height: 34 1/2 inches 87.6 cm (97%)

When I’m done breastfeeding and can stop this no dairy diet, I have decided I’m going to have a pizza and cheesecake party to celebrate!! I really miss eating those things! The doctor told me I can try to have some dairy again sometime when Lionel is between 4-6 months and see how he does. If he still gets upset I’m probably going to start him on lactose free formula. Hopefully he will grow out of this.

We have officially taken the pacifier away from Nicci during the day. Now she only gets it during nap time and bedtime. I was so tired to see it hanging out of her mouth and sometimes she was just chewing on it. She is SO attached to it though. The first day I was so tired because she was whining and screaming for a long time. I wanted to give in so many times but Eric helped me to stay firm. Now she is doing a lot better and doesn’t seem to miss it terribly. I was nervous that she was going to take Lionel’s pacifier away from him and use it herself but she hasn’t done that. Good girl. The time when I miss it the most is in the car. I also miss it when I try to put Lionel to sleep and she is really loud. But I think this will be good for her. So those are my updates for now!

Some Family Pics!

We played with my camera and tripod earlier today. Here are some pictures we took. It was kind of hard because Nicci did not want to smile and Lionel wanted to look away or down. But some of them turned out kind of nice.
